Porto dies volent però no podent escriure alguna referència sobre el llibre Wikinomics, un dels llibres que estic llegint, malauradament a poc a poc, aquests dies. Arrenca amb grans promeses d’arribar una nova era de l’economia gràcies als fenòmens de col·laboració de masses -amb exemples com Linux, Wikipedia, però també amb altres com Procter and Gamble o el Projecte Genoma-, i sota el meu parer té un punt de semblança amb aquella esperança blanca que ja vam viure molt de prop a finas dels noranta, i que després vam veure com va acabar. Tot i així, l’obra de Don Tapscott y Anthony D. Williams diu coses com aquestes:
“(..) Call them the “weapons of mass collaboration”. New low-cost collaborative infrastructures -from free Internet telephony to open source software to global outsourcing platforms- allow thousands upon thousands of individuals and small producers to cocreate products, access markets, and delight customers in ways thay only large corporations could manage in the past. This is giving rise to new collaborative capabilities and business models that will empower the prepared firm and destroy those that fail to adjust.
(…) Twenty years from now we will look back at this period of the early twenty-first century as a critical turning point in economic and social history. We will understand that we entered a new age, one based on new principles, worldviews, and business models where the nature of the game was changed”.
De moment, doncs, li dono un vot de confiança. Seguiré parlant sobre aquest llibre durant les properes setmanes. Per cert, avui La Vanguardia, al suplement Dinero, ha tret una ressenya titulada “La era de la Wikinomía”.
